The body of the brewer is powder-coated black over metal, so it has a rich satin luster. The carafe continues to be stainless. The KBT designation means that it has a manual brew basket with a three position switch: open, partially open and closed. The partially open position would be suitable for half pots of coffee. You would switch the basket to the closed position when you remove the thermal server in order to prevent any residual drips onto your counter. The Technivorm Moccamaster KBT-741 Clubline brewer is a simple, precise and elegant electric drip brewer. No gadgets here. This is a handmade coffeemaker built in Holland. The main asset of the Moccamaster is its ability to maintain perfect brewing temperature throughout the entire brewing cycle, an attribute that has earned it certification from at least two coffee trade associations. The Moccamaster KB model features a glass carafe and a manual-adjust brew-basket which provides adjustability in how fast coffee flows into the carafe. The KB brews a full 40oz pot of coffee in six minutes.
