40 Million people in the United States have arthritis. I am offering custom made crochet handles which are ergonomically designed to allow people to crochet longer with less pain. I received some very moving notes from people I made these for in the past and decided to list them to help more people. Based on the prior requests and feedback, the most comfortable diameter is approx. 1". These larger handles will be comfortable to use and lessen the pressure needed to hold the hook. You will find the larger handles will help you achieve a more effortless grip. The majority of these handles will be made of wood. The advantage the wooden handle gives me is the ability to create larger diameter and longer length handles. The size constraints of the acrylic blanks limits the maximum circumference and length of the handles. Wood is also lighter than the acrylic version, and less fatiguing to your hand. However, some acrylic colors can be made into larger handles. I have listed the colors that I carry that can be made into the larger length and circumference handles. The dimensions of the wooden handles are either 3" or 4" long and approx. 1" in diameter and 3 1/4" in circumference. The custom made handles I made in the past are 3" long. This is what I call standard length and with the crochet hook out it would total 5 3/4" in length. Correspondingly, the 4" long handle would be 6 3/4" long with the crochet hook out. When you order please let me know the length of the handle you would like. The handle comes with C/2 2.75mm in-line hook. Other in-line hook sizes available for purchase - C/2, D/3, E/4, F/5, G/6, H/8. If you order the box of 5 additional hooks, remember to buy a handle too (handles are not included in the box of 5). NEW -larger hook sizes - I/9, J/10, K10.5 - order individually! Based on feedback, I've added a chain as an option. The chain is 35" twist braid with clasp that goes around your neck. It is magnetic and can be easily removed from the handle when in use. It can be added to any handle but requires a special top. Chains are sold individually and are shown in picture for illustration. These handmade crochet handles are created by a master craftsman with over 40 years of woodworking experience. They are each finished with a 21 step process to ensure the highest quality and glass like appearance.
