Kuretake's No. 55 brush pen, also called the Nihon-Date ("Double feature") Kabura (referring to the comfortable curvature in the part of the barrel's shape where your hand holds), dates back to the 1980s. It has become a popular choice for both traditional oriental calligraphy and art, as well as modern lettering and illustrations. The smaller tip is stiff and is used for writing and detailed lines.
